SOML Nears Completion!

Hello friends! I am pleased to announce that Soundtrack of My Life is nearing completion! It’s been a long time coming, but only a few key pieces remain to be completed. The game now has five distinct love interests with their own deep and engaging story arcs. It also features four nearly distinct friendly relationships with varying levels of character content. I have begun crafting the end-game conditions and prepping the routes to reach them. If I had originally planned to only release a social sim, I would have already released the game, but I promised you a musician’s life sim and that’s what you are going to get!

Here are the outstanding items:

  • Need to build out the in-game money system (No, don’t worry, it will NEVER feature in-app purchases).
  • Need to build out the music-genre mechanics and their permutations.
  • Need to complete some outstanding artwork and music
  • Need to complete Post-end-game options to provide you with a few ways to keep playing a bit longer if you so choose.

I have to say, I am very excited about how this game is wrapping up! I had to take some time off developing for personal reasons, but I feel like I am regaining my thunder and want to deliver on what I promised. I will not release the game if I am not happy with it, and I hope my attention to detail will make it as enjoyable as possible. I also refuse to release a “Pre-release” version of the game where features are not fully cooked, so that takes more time as well.

Once the game is officially live, I have a few ideas for potential expansions (only one or two), but they would depend on your feedback, my friends, and customers. If I release this game and it builds a passionate fan base, I may seek user feedback on which expansions to release. If the game doesn’t draw the attention I hoped for, I will still keep it updated, but will focus on other titles in my pipeline.

As always, the playable beta is still available at http://soml.icanplaythere.com. The game has changed drastically since this was released, but the heart of the game is the exact same (and the interface, for the most part). I am also still interested in hearing about some people who might want to be play testers for the official game. If that’s you, please let me know your interest. I will reach out to discuss what that might look like.

Happy Gaming!
